My life for the past 5 years has been in cycles of two weeks on and two weeks off. Each and every time that I finish a two week long shift sailing back and forth, I’m ecstatically happy that I’ll be able to do whatever I want for the next two weeks.
But as soon as I step ashore for a two week off duty, I feel that I’m back on board again. Life for me runs in cycles of two weeks, and with that, a year flashes by like a rocket shooting skywards.
What is in store for a Startrooper like me? It is said that especially officers with long shipboard experience are amongst the best educated and skilled people and leaders in the world, and that we are surely sought after also on land. That is very promising to hear.
