Before I start this bLOG entry today, I would like to express my most sincere thank you for coming to this bLOG and for making comments. Secondly, I would like to apologize for the “horrible” quality of the image I share today, it was taken with iPhone in nearly pitch black conditions after zooming a slight bit. I could have brought out the Canon but it was in the overhead compartment and as such, out of reach.
Needless to say, I love flying and I love flying with THAI. There is a great fascination for me to be in the air on board THAI, between Scandinavia and my scond homeland, Thailand. No matter in which class, I especially enjoy any window seat (away from the 777’s massive wing areas) during full moon nights…. I always catch myself endlessly staring out into darkness for hours and hours, which in turn always causes a massive jetlag on arrival. I just can’t stop looking out at the earth below as we fly over places like Islamabad, Delhi, Jaipur, Bangladesh, Bey of Bengal and Ayeyarwady. I’ve done it so many times, and especially flying TO Thailand excites me - it’s the glorious start of a new journey filled with hopes, dreams and new friendships. This is one of the absolutely top ten best moments during any visit to Thailand - the flight going there. This is one of the moments I keep dreaming off, and that each day a THAI bird is doing this run when I’m not on board, I’m jealous of. I wish there was a way for me to fly each day for a living - that would be a job which no longer could be considered a “job” per say.
The image below exemplifies just that - it was taken just a few days before full moon this month, and as usual on such nights, it was an extraordinary clear night. I had been looking down at several gloriously illuminated towns and places for quite a while - this is just one of many.
Thankfully, seat 21A kept me away from the massive CE90 engine and the big wings. Further back, and the wing makes it much harder to get a good shot of the land below.
With the help of Google Earth after arrival, I have come to the conclusion that this has got to be a city in Russia called Voronezh.
I would in conclusion like to ask a question: what is your favourite moment of any journey, and what is your opinion of the flight going there? Do you consider the flight a pest, or do you actually enjoy flying? Let me know what you think in the comments below. In advance, thank you very much for your opinions.
