Thursday is here again, and this time I’m ready to step back in time before Thursday becomes Friday. For me, it’s been a busy week as usual, with work, some extra work, creating and uploading new youtube-videos to my CaptainsVoyage account on Youtube. If you haven’t done so already, please visit youtube and subscribe to my channel.
For the next couple of weeks, there will be several Captains bLOG and Captains travel bLOG updates uploaded here to CaptainsVoyage.com
Back to the throwback: this time, I have dug out an old photo dated some time in January 1992 whilst I was serving on board the “Royal Viking Sun” under the command of legendary Captain Ola Stein Harsheim. I don’t remember so much about the actual photo-session but I do remember having to clean the pool, and prepare the stage of the pool, for this photo to be taken by the ship’s photographer.
This photo shows most of the available petty officers and officers of Deck and Engine Departments. We usually did this photo to document who were on board during the ship's world cruises. "Royal Viking Sun" world cruises would normally depart early January from US west-coast and circle the earth in somewhere between 90 and 110 days, with the option of sailing shorter legs of the world cruise.
As can be seen in the photo, the 1992 world cruise was called “Captain’s Pacific Journey”.
So now, can you spot me in the photo?
